BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo defensive end Colby Way was named the Mid-American Conference East Division Defensive Player of the Week on Monday after a standout performance against Georgia on Saturday. The junior defensive end had six tackles (four solo) and a pair of solo sacks against the sixth-ranked Bulldogs. He had a key sack late in the first half that enabled the Bulls to get the ball back and drive down for a field goal in the final seconds to cut Georgia's lead to 24-16 at the half. The two sacks were a career high for Way who had three all of last season. Buffalo will host Morgan State in its home opener on Saturday at 6:00 pm at UB Stadium.
