Mainly special teams player last season, Played in seven games

Witney Sherry spent his freshman season wearing a red shirt learning the system, then he spent 2011 on special teams. It looks like he will spend this with the starting defense at safety, ahead of Kyndal Minniefield.

During his final prep season Sherry recorded three interceptions, four forced fumbles, 65 tackles, three fumble recoveries and six pass breakups.

Last season, in his limited time had three total tackles. Coming out of spring as the starting free safety, as only a sophomore, means that in future years Sherry could be a main stay in the UB defensive backfield.
