Marqus Baker is one of many young defensive backs on UB's roster who's aim is to eventually bring the unit back to level it was playing at in 2008. After having spending his first year on campus learning the system Baker had an impressive run during spring camp.

After the blue and white game coach Quinn released his summer two deep and Baker, a red shirt freshman, was placed right behind Cortney Lester on the depth chart.

Back in High school Baker played running back and corner back at Robinson HS in Tampe Florida. During his senior year he piled up 58 tackles, two interceptions, nine pass breakups and two forced fumbles. That, and his help in getting his team to the state semifinals saw Baker named All-Conference.
