November 3, 1923 - Buffalo 7, Hamilton 6

Thirty years before the debut of the Ian Fleming character, Coach James Bond became the sixth coach in UB history in 1923. Bond's first game as coach was a 40-0 drumming of Rochester Optometry. The win made Bond the 4^th coach to win his debut game, the 3rd to do so via shutout and gave the Bison their 49th football victory. UB would go on to lose their next two games before tying Clarkson. The following week, the Bison were able to earn their 50th win with a narrow 7-6 victory over Hamilton. It would be Bond's last win; he lost his last three games as head coach and did not return the following season.
