Final Weekend: 8 Possible Scenarios: Saturday Morning Update

After a roller coaster week. UB can do no worse than 3rd place and has swept conference power Akron. However UB was swept by Ohio (who lost to EMU, who UB Destroyed) and struggled with Kent.

The top 4 is set, Akron is #1, UB, Ohio, Kent is #4

There are 8 4 2 remaining scenarios for the MAC's top 4 teams. Kent owns all tiebreakers so they clinch 4th.

It is very simple now. Win: 2 seed and Triple Bye. Lose: 3 seed and Double bye. Go Bulls!

Scenario #8:

1) Akron 13-3 2) Ohio 11-5 (h2h tiebreaker) 3) Buffalo 11-5 4) Kent State 10-6 (h2h tiebreaker over EMU, tiebreaker over BGSU via record vs EMU...tiebreaker in 3 way tie with 2-1 record vs EMU and BGSU)
Notes: We lose the triple bye, and get the dreaded 2-3 matchup with Ohio.
How it happens: Ohio wins and Buffalo loses.

Scenario #7:

1) Akron 13-3 2) Buffalo 12-4 3) Ohio 11-5 4) Kent State 10-6 or,
1) Akron 13-3 2) Buffalo 12-4 3) Ohio 10-6 (tiebreaker record vs Akron) 4) Kent State 10-6 or,
Notes: We get the triple bye but still get the dreaded 2-3 matchup with Ohio.
How it happens:

1) Akron, Ohio and Buffalo win.
OR
2) Akron and Buffalo win, Ohio and EMU lose.

Scenario #4:

1) Akron 13-3 2) Buffalo 12-4 3) Kent State 10-6 (tiebreaker 2-1 record vs EMU and Ohio) 4) EMU 10-6 (h2h tiebreaker over Ohio)
Notes: We get the triple bye, get a less dreaded but still difficult 2-3 matchup with Kent, Ohio is forced to play 2 extra games.
How it happens:

1) Akron, Buffalo and EMU win, and Ohio loses.
OR
2) EMU wins and Akron, Ohio and Buffalo lose

Scenario #2:

1) Akron 13-3 2) Buffalo 11-5 3) EMU 10-6 (2-1 .666 record vs Ohio, Kent & BGSU) 4) Ohio 10-6 (Tiebreaker record over Akron.)
Notes: We get the triple Bye, we get a sweet 2-3 matchup with EMU. Kent has to play 2 extra games.

Notes: We win the MAC regular season title, but get the dreaded 1-4 matchup with Ohio.
How it happens: Buffalo wins, Akron, Ohio and EMU lose.

Notes: We get the triple bye, get a less dreaded but still difficult 2-3 matchup with Kent.
How it happens: Akron, Ohio, Buffalo and EMU lose.

1) Buffalo 2) Akron 3) Ohio 4) Kent State
Notes: We win the MAC regular season, get the less dreaded but still difficult matchup with Kent.
How it happens: Ohio and Buffalo win and Akron loses.

Notes: We win the MAC regular season title. We get the triple bye. We get a sweet 1-4 matchup with EMU. Ohio has to play 2 extra games. Only downside is Ohio at #5 is still on our side of the bracket.
How it happens: Buffalo and EMU win, and Akron and Ohio lose.
