That was fast... UB Get's first verbal of 2011-2012.

via a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net Corey Madlock becomes the first verbal of this season.

Before the current team is even done conditioning, before the outgoing seniors have their pro day, before April! Coach Jeff Quinn has begun building the class of 2012. He started, as he promised, by starting with the players in his own back yard.

Canisius High School offensive guard Corey Madlock became the first member of the University at Buffalo’s 2012 recruiting class today when he gave the Bulls a verbal commitment, a source told The Buffalo News. -- Rodney McKissic, Buffalo News

Coach Quinn is a sucker for offensive linemen. This past class was line heavy and he is starting out 2012 the same way. Madlock played both guard and tackle on offense and as a tackle on Canisius's defensive line.  As a defensive lineman he tallied 28 tackles, three sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

with an impressive 6-4/280 frame Madlock had begun to draw interest from Syracuse and Bowling Green but Buffalo was the first school to offer

Star-divide

Madlock was second team all western new york this past season. WGR called him out as the best interior Lineman saw all year. Mike Ferrintino (WGR) counted 5 pancakes every week
