Big Picture: Bulls took a major step up in class Saturday and it showed. The defense couldn't cope with the Vols speed and quickness. The offense is still having issues in the passing game, making it easier for opponents to stack against the run. Tennessee's pretty good. And the Vols could be ready to take a run at SEC title next year as this young nucleus continues to mature.

Twice UB forced and recovered fumbles on kickoffs and twice the offense failed to cash in the opportunities in the 41-10 loss to the Vols. Brandon Murie recovered the first fumble after UB drew within 14-7. Shaquille Dudley recovered the second with the score 41-10. On neither occasion did the Bulls produce with the short field. (UB also had a blocked punt, by Saron Hood, which UT recovered for a first down).
The Bulls Soccer team had better luck with a ranked opponent this weekend.

Behind a career-high 20 kills from sophomore Dana Musil, the University at Buffalo volleyball team handed Bowling Green just its second loss of the season, with a 3-2 victory against the Falcons. For the Bulls, it was their first ever match played in the new Stroh Center at Bowling Green, and improves their record to 9-9 on the year and 2-2 in conference play.
