What Was That? - Cardiac Hill
Words can't adequately describe just how awful the Utah game was. The stadium was pumped for the first quarter after the two touchdowns and then slowly but surely, Pitt and that unit formerly known as the offense (I don't know what you can actually call them) sucked the life out of the stadium. And the bad thing was that despite only gaining 120 yards of offense, Pitt still could've easily won.

ATHENS, Ohio – Matt Weller missed a 41-yard field goal with 36 seconds left and Ball State held on a for a 23-20 victory to spoil Ohio’s homecoming on Saturday. The Bobcats (4-3, 1-2 Mid-American Conference) could not overcome three turnovers to none by the Cardinals (4-3, 2-1 MAC) even as LaVon Brazill became the school’s all-time leading receiver with a huge game of eight catches, 157 yards and two touchdowns.

USF Makes Lame Excuses For Not Throwing The Ball More Against UConn - Voodoo Five
As if USF's refusal to throw the ball more against UConn wasn't bad enough, you're not going to believe some of the reasons that Skip Holtz, Todd Fitch, and B.J. Daniels gave reporters after the game for why they didn't throw the ball more. These are all from Greg Auman's latest blog post:

You'll feel a lot better after a good bleeding! - Rocky Top Talk
As was the case last week, we need to separate the things that are worth being upset about from the things that are not. After Georgia, we needed to be reasonable about what to expect from a team dealing with so many key injuries. With LSU, it's understanding the difference between things we should be doing better, and things that happen to you when you play the number one team in the nation.
LSU - Tennessee: A Viewer's Guide to the Sunday Replay - And The Valley Shook
You know, if you lightly tap somebody in the head with a ball-peen hammer enough times, it'll eventually do some damage. That's what LSU's 38-7 win on Saturday felt like. LSU didn't overwhelm Tennessee from start to finish, but just kept tapping away until the Volunteers couldn't take it anymore.

NIU 51, WMU 22: Potential Realized - Red And Black Attack
Nobody expected this Huskie team to take the field for Homecoming Saturday. Western Michigan was supposed to have turned the corner to take the MAC West crown this year. But alas, out of nowhere came the Northern Illinois Huskies, with head coach Dave Doeren leading the march into Huskie Stadium where a crowd of over 20K+ cheered them on.

MAC Week 7 Wrap: Running With The Wind - Hustle Belt
MIAMI 9, KENT STATE 3 — I honestly don't know what else can be said about this ugly game, but KSU did show some flashes of competency in their final drive when they had to go about 80 yards in 80 seconds. But that was your lone flash of excitement. KSU had a field goal, Miami scored a passing touchdown late in the game and added a safety sack. There's your summary. Miami wins and moves on.

EMU 35, Central Michigan 28 recap: Greene and White all day! " Eagle Totem
No one is ever going to mistake Alex Gillett for Kellen Moore, but yesterday he did a great job of playing within his abilities. He completed six of eight passes, all short routes to Garrett Hoskins (4 for 43 yards) and Trey Hunter (2 for 33 yards). The two incomplete passes both came in the first quarter, one to Dominique White and one to Donald Scott, and Central Michigan was flagged for pass interference on the latter play; if you count the pass interference call as a 15-yard completion, Gillett’s passer rating was 183.05. He didn’t pass for any touchdowns, but he also didn’t throw any interceptions.

FalconBlog--Triumphs and Trials in the BGSU Falcon Nation: Rocket Game Story, Part I: Hanging on
As I mentioned last night, the issues with not being able to make 3rd and shorts and in not being able to defend the run have been endemic in our program for what is now approaching 10 years. That is certainly disappointing. For a team to know they can come out in the second half and just run the ball and push us all over the field....it makes it tough to win games. The teams we beat (Miami, for example), don't have that in their playbook anyway.
Rockets win Battle for I-75 " Football " Sports " Let's Go Rockets
This was a great win on the road for the Rockets. The Rockets now move on to face Miami OH at the Glass Bowl on Saturday in a homecoming contest.
