When Jeff Quinn and his staff set their sights on twelve verbal commitments before the season started it was akin to Turner Gill saying that UB could be not just competitors but Champions in the MAC. It was something to dream about, someday, but nothing that was going to happen quick.
With the commitment of Khari Brown Quinn is only one recruit, and 13 days, short of that goal.
Last season Gill had only two recruits commit before UB took on the Miners in the season opener, and that was on the back of Winning the MAC championship. If Gill had struggled so much how could Quinn turn things around in a single off season?
Simple! Quinn seems to be a better recruiter than Gill. Weather or not he is landing the talent that Gill landed remains to be seen, but then again Gill won his championships mainly with his predecessors recruits.
ESPN describes Brown, a Linebacker out of Forestville Maryland, as:
ESPN ranks him as the the number 62 linebacker coming out of high school this year. Aside from UB brown had offers from Marshall and Liberty. reportedly he also had interest from Temple, Kansas State, Kansas, Iowa, Ohio and Villanova.

a tough customer with good run stopping ability. Has the size along with enough athleticism for the inside linebacker position at the major level of competition; flashes good run and blocking toughness as a fullback.
